UPC-A Bar Code Symbology
UPC-A is a linear (1D) type bar code that is used for product marking intended for the retail supply chain where a country code is NOT required. The UPC-A symbology is actually a subset of the EAN-13/JAN-13 symbology. This bar code is composed of one (1) digit for number system and ten (10) digits for the data characters, and a checksum character.
