American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
American National Standards Institute (ANSI) was the organization that developed the original bar code quality testing protocol. This was the ANSI X3.182 standard (titled “Bar Code Print Quality – Guideline”) which was replaced in 2000 by the ISO15416 (titled “Bar code print quality test specification — Linear symbols”).
